This article applies to the following products:

  • Ledger Nano (not Nano S)

This may happen after a firmware update. In some cases, the security card is not correctly written in the chip. The solution is to downgrade to a beta firmware and upgrade again to the latest firmware.

Here is the full procedure:

  1. Make sure you have your recovery card with 24 words and QRcode security card 32 hexadecimal characters
  2. Using a QRcode reader, scan the QRcode on your recovery card or type in a text file your 32 security card hexadecimals characters (you'll need them)
  3. On the Chrome app, enter 3 times in a row a wrong PIN to reset the Ledger Nano
  4. Go to https://fupbeta.hardwarewallet.com/
  5. Install the two chrome extensions (follow the instructions on the page)
  6. Type in your security card 32 characters in hexadecimal
  7. Start the update and follow instructions
  8. Once the update is done, go to https://fup.hardwarewallet.com/ledger/
  9. Type in your security card 32 characters in hexadecimal
  10. Start the update and follow instructions
  11. Come back to the Chrome app once update is finalized
  12. Restore your seed
